L’oreal Elvive Fibrology Review

L'oreal

Hello!

I’ve been using this new range for about a month and have been pleasantly surprised by the results, so here’s a quick review!

The Fibrology range is L’oreal Elvive’s latest scientific breakthrough for hair. ’17 years of research, 8 years of testing and 1 patented technology’ has gone into creating a range of 5 products that promise to give you thicker hair by increasing the individual strands diameter, they are designed to give a cumulative effect, making your hair thicker each wash.

I was a bit sceptical as I am with any product that promises amazing results, I’m also not keen on Elvive as a brand, but I am quite concious of how fine my hair is so I thought I’d give them a go. Initially I just bought the shampoo, conditioner and ‘Double Serum’ as the thickness booster and masque had sold out within a few hours!!!

For the first week I didn’t notice any difference at all so was feeling a bit glum about wasting my money. However, the following week Boots had the remaining two products back in stock, so I gave Fibrology the benefit of the doubt and snapped them up. Next wash I combined the thickness booster with he masque, and left them on for 1o minutes so it could fully penetrate. As I was drying my hair I was surprised that my hair actually felt a bit thicker, nothing major, but definitely different.

So for the last 2 weeks I have been using the range every other day and my hair really is getting thicker! My ends aren’t looking as sparse and my ponytail feels much fuller even without any styling products. My friend that only see every few months even commented that my hair looked thick hand healthy which really proved I wasn’t imagining it!

Overall, I would recommend the range to anyone who’s not happy with their fine hair. It’s not going to deliver a miracle but it will make you hair thicker if you keep using it.

If you fancy trying it for yourself, Fibrology is currently on offer at Boots.

Has anyone else had good results with this range? I’ve seen a few bloggers criticising it so I’d love to hear your opinions!

Review : Body Shop Banana Shampoo & Conditioner

Posted on

bodyshop

Hello! Just wanted to do a quick review of my latest shampoo & conditioner combo as I am absolutely loving it!! So I’m currently using the Body Shop’s banana hair care range, I just picked this up on a bit of a whim really, but as soon as I smelt it I had to buy it. I have been really underwhelmed with the brands hair care in the past feeling it never delivered the results is promised. However this is a stand alone shampoo and conditioner combo, and isn’t part of the main line ‘rainforest’ range, which has had a lot of slating on the beauty blogosphere.

The two products are designed for all hair types, offering gentle and nourishing cleansing and conditioning. I find that the two together leave my hair feeling very soft and shiny without any weight.to great lengths

However I don’t think they are massively nourishing or gentle, to me they feel more like a clarifying shampoo and volumising conditioner. So if you have fine, and relatively healthy hair like me, these will work perfectly for you, if you suffer from coarse, damaged hair, I would avoid these as they will not benefit you. The best thing about these two are the smell, it’s a real pick me up in the morning, it’s so fresh and mouthwatering, I just wish the Body Shop would make more of these fruity shampoo’s and conditioner’s, I’d love a satsuma one to match my body butter!

In terms of consitincey they have a typical gel like texture, I find they lather well and you need very little product. The bottles are quite small but I reckon they will last me a good couple of months. I like to switch up my shampoo and conditioners regularly , but I’m sure they will become a staple in my bathroom and I will definitely be going back to them when I want my hair to smell like banana’s, and who doesn’t want that!!

You can check the BodyShop’s hair care range out here , the banana shampoo and conditioners are £4.50 each which I think is very reasonable for the quality. I hear Lush do a very good banana conditioner too, so I might give that a try in the near future, has anyone else tried it?

Kyle Beasley Hair Salon Review Leicester

For those of us on a hair growth mission, going to get your hair cut can be a daunting prospect. But it has been over 4 months since my last trim, my hair was looking a little worse for wear and I needed to bite the bullet and go for a chop. I have been to many hair salons and find it difficult to stay loyal to any, I’ve been to Toni&guy, Barrie Stephen, Jo&Cass, even Supercuts (God forgive me), amoungst many others, but although I’ve had a fairly good experience I’ve never been wowed and wanted to book another appointment, and the search went on!

On a reccommendation from my work collegues at Topshop I decided to book an appointment at the new ‘Kyle Beasley’ salon located in chic St.Martins area of Leicester. On first impression the salon looked gorgeous, with a lot of personal touches you only get from an independant business. The lady at the reception was very welcoming, and had great hair. There is nothing more off putting than a stylist with bad hair!  Later I learnt her name was Shelly and she is the salon manager.

At my appointment I explained to Shelly that I was trying to grow my hair and only want a tiny bit off. Normally a hairderesser will ignore me and hack at least a couple of inches off and I’ll have to say it looks great whilst calculating the amount of money I can spend on extensions for the next couple of months. I also vaugley told her the kind of fringe I’d like and she seemed to know exactly what I wanted even if I didnt! Lastly I decided to get a l’oreal treatment done which was an extra £10 on top. This should last in my hair for roughly six weeks, and beacuse of the keratin, will strengthen my hair and help prevent split ends, so a really great option if your trying to grow your hair too. My hair felt amazing after this treatment, and even when I rinsed my hair out this morning it still felt like silk, will defintuiley be getting this done each time I go from now on.

In terms of my hair cut I really didnt get anything drastic, and I’m normally a bit underwhelmed, but this time I genuinely felt like a different person with my new fringe and really blunt, one length ends. I would highly reccommend my stylist Shelly, from the cut to the way she styled my hair I was 100% happy and even though I want to avoid cutting my hair, I actually can’t wait to go back! She waved my hair with a cloud 9 waving wand and I have already started saving up for one I loved the effect that much! So here is the finished result…

Like the product Junkie I am, I also picked up some ‘L’oreal Professional Tecni Art Volume Riche Strong Hold Mousse’, bit of a mouthful that. This was about £10, and is completley different from any other mousse I’ve tried, you can’t even tell its in your hair yet it kept the wave in my hair all day, and on my night out, very impressed and I’ll be doing a full review on it once I have used it a little more.

So if your looking for a great new salon in Leicester I would highly reccommend Kyle Beasley. Here is their website which you can check out for more details http://www.kylebeasley.co.uk/page2.htm .
